Phasing Out

Yes, you guys probably saw it coming. 1 ARC Tours is phasing out day by day. We now only have 2 active tours, and both of those will probably end this month.

There's nothing that can be done or said to stop it, I apologize. We weren't getting many/any donations. And those that we were getting, people weren't signing up for.

Who knows? Maybe we'll come back in April-ish, when school is over. But as of right now there are PLENTY of other tour sites y'all can participate in that are FAR more active and organized than this one.

ACTIVE TOURS

Guys! We only have 10 tours going right now! That's pitiful. This site is driven by your donations! If you have an ARC lying around PLEASE consider donating it! PLEASE!

RETIRED TOURS

I've gone through and marked all of the tours that are finished. Yup. This section is simple.

LOST BOOKS

We have EIGHT books missing! I know where some of these are, but if you have one of these PLEASE let me know! I believe I have contacted everyone who has these, but have gotten very few responses. If you have one of these PLEASE LET ME KNOW. If we work together to get them out quick, you won't be penalized. Please hurry! Here are the books we're looking for:

Thank you SO MUCH for responding to my cry for help, guys! I got a TON of people volunteer for help. I'm looking over all of your e-mails now, and I'll get back to you soon.

In the meantime, I have made some BIG CHANGES to 1 ARC Tours. Please read carefully

We have a new e-mail address! My personal e-mail was a Yahoo account, and it was a HUGE pain to have to log in and out over and over again. That's the main reason I was so slow with e-mail. So our new e-mail is onearctours@gmail.com
There is no more Cbox. I learned that it was REALLY annoying! I just kept missing things. Now, every time you RECEIVE a book, every time you MAIL a book, and every time you need the NEXT ADDRESS you must e-mail me at the new e-mail address.
The rules have been updated. Things are a little more strict. I have outlined exact punishments for when rules are broken. Hopefully this will encourage order. SEE THE NEW RULES
Tours are now open to the US only. I'm really sorry to our few Canadian members. But it was just causing too much stress. If you're interested in international tours, you might check out the Good Golly Miss Holly tours.

Hello everyone!

I just want to let everyone know that if Enna Isilee or I don't get in contact with you the day you send an e-mail or post in the chat box, don't freak out! Both of us have just started our college classes, so we both just got busy again.

For those of you e-mailing for addresses, I would suggest e-mailing us two or three days ahead of the scheduled time for it to ship, just to make sure we can get the address to you on time.

Also, we have many tours right now that are less than five people. If a tour doesn't get five people signed up, it will not run. It takes a lot of time to keep everything going smoothly, and it's hard to keep everything straight with a lot of tours with less than five people on them.

Hi, guys! Enna Isilee here. We've been getting a lot of e-mails. So here's an update on WHAT IN THE WORLD is going on with this site.

Imagine that 1 ARC Tours is a car. This car was pretty broken down. It has a lot of dents, and dings, and parts that are completely missing. But luckily this car has just come into some new owners! We're going to fix up the engine, slap on some new paint, and turn it into something that millionaires are jealous of!

Hee. I like analogies.

Anyway. Basically 1 ARC Tours is a completely new tour site.

Right now we are e-mailing people trying to find out where the books ended up. So again, if you have one of the tour books PLEASE let us know. We've only managed to locate 4 of the books so far.

When we locate the books we will RE-START the tour with brand new sign-ups. There's no need to say you want to be taken off it.

The books posted this week are MOST DEFINITELY available to join. And they're pretty good ones! These will be very closely monitored. There are rewards for sending out on time, and there will be punishments if you fail to obey the rules. YOU MUST FILL OUT THE NEW FORM TO PARTICIPATE IN TOURS AS OF 6-26-10

IN CONCLUSION: 1 ARC Tours is undergoing a transformation into a new tour site. The only problem is that we can't just brush off our old baggage. Please be patient with us. We're doing the best we can

-->Reviews, unless otherwise stated to tour members, must be posted within one week of mailing the book. There will be a Mister Linky on all new tours where you will post a link to your review. Don't post a link that just goes to your blog's homepage, please make the link to the specific review.

I've also created a new form. Everyone needs to fill this out, even if they filled out the old form. This new form is to get rid of any members who haven't been participating, and to make sure everyone has read this post! (AKA: The old form doesn't matter at all anymore, I won't be using it anymore - fill out this one!) If you fill out this one, you will be added to the member's list.

I REALLY need to know where the books are, guys. After I post this, I'm sending out a mass e-mail to everyone to make sure that everyone gets it.

These tours have been getting out of control. There's a one week limit, but people have been keeping books for months at a time. When Sara or I try to e-mail people, they just don't reply. It's just not working out very well anymore.

If you know you don't have time to read the books in a week, just e-mail us! We'll move you down on the list, or take you off the tour completely, but don't keep the book for weeks and weeks at a time when that's against the rules.

I'm starting to get frustrated, because I have authors e-mailing me because they don't know where the books are, or the reviews aren't up yet, and all these other things. When I try to communicate with the bloggers about this issue, I don't get responses! It's getting so frustrating!

So, please, if you have a book, either e-mail the tours, or post on this. I need to ESPECIALLY know where these books are: The Cinderella Society and The Witchy Worries of Abby Adams. Though if you have ANY of the tour books, I need to know.

Alsooo, in other news. I know come fall I won't be able to handle the tours. My classload is going to be extremely challenging, it's my senior year, and I'm going to be working up a storm. Hey everyone! Harmony and I were talking the other night, and we wanted to try and start a new idea with the 1 ARC Tours.

First of all, if you are still going to be apart of tours, please fill out the form at the end of this post. We have a list of members now, but we need to get it updated! If you don't plan on being on any more tours, please don't fill out the form. Even if you already sent us the e-mail with your information, please fill out the form! (Also, remember that the tours are for the US and Canada only.)

Next, we're going to test out a new idea.

-You have one week to read the book after it's sent to you. This will be tracked. I'm going to have all the addresses on file. You'll e-mail me at onearctours[at]yahoo[dot]com to get the address of the person after you on the tour list.
-When you send the book out to them, you'll also e-mail me to let me know.
-When that person receives the book, they'll e-mail me at onearctours[at]yahoo[dot]com to let me know, and I'll send them the next address on the tour, etc.
-Whether or not you are posting your reviews will also be tracked, so make sure you're still doing that!
-If you have any questions about this process, please leave them in the comments or e-mail us.
-This new process will start with the tour The Witchy Worries of Abby Adams and continue to all tours that have started after that.
-A note from Erica: When you guys are signing up for tours, PLEASE leave your email address. It takes time to make checklists, and even more when I have to go searching for emails. If you repetitively are not leaving an email address, you will stop being put on tours.

New Changes

I want to thank everyone who left their suggestions back in January. There were two things that pretty much everyone suggested - track the books and speed up the process. With that in mind, we are making two new changes:

1.) From now on, you will only be able to keep the book for 1 week. This means that as soon as you get the book, you should begin reading it. This is to speed up the process and keep everyone on track. Failure to do this regularly will result in suspension from future tours.

2.)I've enlisted the help of some fellow reviewers to track the books. Soon, the "Book Locations" post will be updated with a list of the tours and who has the book, as well as what number they are on the tour. I'll try to update this weekly. I ask for your cooperation with this as the helpers will be emailing you if they noticed you haven't sent the book out or aren't sure if you did or not. Also, I need a few more people to help with this, so if you're interested, email me.

Please remember that you *must* leave a comment on the Book Locations tour or send an email to onearctours@yahoo.com when you receive a book for the tour and preferably when you send it out as well.

This is to give us a chance to get caught up on all of the tours we have going, as well as post the sign-ups for tours we've already scheduled.

New Requirements and Reminders

As the tours become more popular, we are beginning to notice some problems and are making changes accordingly. We've recently updated the About page, so please check that out. We are now asking the following of those signing up:

1.) You must have had a blog that you've posted consistently on for a miminum of two months.
2.) You must make at least two non-meme posts a week.

Hope, Erica, and I will be checking the blogs of those interested to ensure that those two requirements are met. This is not to exclude new bloggers but to ensure that those signing up are more likely to follow through with the requirements because they already understand how time consuming blogging is.

We will also be capping the tours at twenty (20) reviewers per ARC. The first ten on the tour will be the first ten people to sign up and the other ten will be chosen randomly. I hesitated to do this but there is no possible way that ARCs can hold up through 30-40 people.

It has also come to my attention that some of the ARCs are being held on to longer than necessary and also that not everyone is posting reviews. We are starting to keep track of this now and if I notice it is becoming a pattern from any reviewer, they will be taken off of any future tours.

Finally, a few reminders:

1.) Tours are open to United States and Canada ONLY.
2.) Always go by the checklist emailed out, NOT the one posted on the site.
3.) You MUST send us an email with your blog URL to sign up for the program before signing up for any tours. We are now going through to check this and anyone signed up for a tour but not the program will be taken off. We will send you an email after we review the blog to let you know.
4.) The ARCs are being returned to the authors at the end of the tours so please write notes in the front/back of the book. I've received many questions about this and Yes, you are supposed to write notes! (Though if you don't have anything positive to say, then skip this.)
5.) When you sign up for a tour, ask yourself is it's a book you're willing to drop whatever you're reading to read as soon as you get it. Please do not sign up for tours you really aren't interested in just to get the book.

Please pay attention to this post and read the whole thing in it's entirety.

First, we're having trouble sending out e-mails to people. Email accounts are recognizing our e-mail address as spam. Please please please make sure we are added into your address book or your e-mails with most likely get bounced back to us and not go through. This will mean you'll be missing out on important update emails and all of the checklists! That's badbadbad. So, PLEASE make sure we're added to your address book!

Secondly, if you get a checklist for a book which you have received after signing up, email the person above you to let them know that you will be off the list, so they need to send it to the person under you. Also e-mail Harmony and I to let us know what's going on.

Third, and last, please make sure you are e-mailing us or posting in the C-Box when you ship a book out. This helps us keep track of where the books are and how long the tours have left.
